Zelenskyy: US intel and Starlink curbs are 'a reality'; drones kill four near Kyiv

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that US limits on intelligence sharing and a reduction in Starlink speeds "are no longer mere threats, but a reality," in an interview with Italy's Corriere della Sera published on Tuesday. Separately, Russian drones killed at least four people around Kyiv that morning.

"At least give us the interceptors"

Zelenskyy said he approached Trump as a partner. He said it was unfair if Russia strikes Ukraine and Ukraine cannot respond, and asked for interceptors instead. He said Washington refused and was asking Ukraine to stop.

If this is necessary for your allies, and you cannot stop Putin, at least give us the interceptors we need to protect our energy infrastructure.

"Instead, they refused to provide us with those missiles," he said. "In short, they are simply asking us to stop."

Corriere said it was his first interview with Italian media since Trump's "diesel deal" with Putin, which Zelenskyy has called "a betrayal."

Talks and guarantees

Zelenskyy said his team had spoken with Trump's negotiators the day before the interview. He confirmed he is "ready to meet with them, perhaps as early as this week."

He said the best security guarantee rests on three things: Ukraine's army, the EU and NATO. If NATO is off the table, he wants "equivalent guarantees, even under a different name" with the same legal force.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, said cars were "ablaze" after the drone attack on the road in the Fastiv district, close to a shopping centre, Ukrainska Pravda reported. Law enforcement opened an investigation into violations of the laws and customs of war.

The National Military Memorial Cemetery said one of its shuttle drivers, Andriy, was killed when his bus was damaged in the attack on the same highway that morning. His passengers were unhurt.
