Gregory beats Lang by 3 seconds as Tranchand takes OCC title
France’s Frédéric Tranchand and America’s Lauren Gregory won the 2026 OCC, the UTMB World Series 50K Final, after Gregory out-sprinted Naomi Lang by three seconds on the Chamonix finish.

Tranchand from the front
iRunFar reported Tranchand led almost the entire men’s race, converting short-trail and skyrunning form into a clear OCC title despite a crowded favourite list that included Rémi Bonnet and Francesco Puppi.

A finish decided on the bridge
Lang had led much of the women’s race after Tove Alexandersson scratched and defending champion Miao Yao moved to CCC. Gregory closed on the long descents. iRunFar’s dispatch puts Gregory and Lang together on the metal highway bridge into Chamonix before Gregory’s finishing speed decided the sprint.

What it means for the U.S. trail scene
Gregory’s first OCC title is a flagship U.S. result in a week dominated by European and Norwegian headlines elsewhere on the Mont Blanc loop. Lang’s silver, three seconds back, will sting — and sell — for months.
Series Finals week, closed out
OCC’s three-second women’s margin will be the GIF of the week, but Tranchand’s front-running win matters for French short-trail depth heading into winter skyrunning and the next World Series cycle. Gregory’s breakthrough also reframes U.S. women’s mountain-running conversations that often skip Europe’s late-August Chamonix block — she just won the 50K Final the hard way.
