# NewsPlatform

> NewsPlatform is a free, independent news publishing platform where writers, newsrooms and organisations run their own channels, publish articles, and readers follow the channels they trust.

NewsPlatform is a publishing platform, not a news aggregator: every article on the site was written and published to the site by the channel it appears under. Nothing is scraped or syndicated from other news sites, and outlets are not scored for political bias.

## Facts

- Site: https://www.newsplatform.org/
- Reading is free and requires no account.
- Creating an account, creating a channel and publishing articles are free. There are no subscription fees for writers.
- There are no paid reader subscriptions, no paywall and no revenue share for writers.
- The homepage story list is newest-first (by article creation time) and is not personalised per reader. The lead story at the top is chosen by a platform setting — by default the most-read article among the most recent day of content, optionally the newest article, the most-read of all time, or an article pinned by the editor (sponsored pins are labelled) — and a 'Most read' rail ranks by view count.
- Articles are filed under Politics, Business, Tech, AI, Science, Sports, Culture, Lifestyle, Education, Environment, Opinion and Law.
- Article URLs look like https://www.newsplatform.org/articles/<id>/<slug>.
- Advertising is sold as clearly labelled sponsorship: a homepage Featured Lead at $99/day and channel sponsorships from $299/month (see /advertise).
